Katch Design Collective is a full service interior design firm specializing in interiors that promote health, wellbeing, and support meaningful living. We believe that everything we do either brings us closer or further from living our best lives, and we use interior design as a powerful tool to support a life well lived.
Interior design is the most ubiquitous design we interact with. We are always in or around architecture; in fact, we spend more time indoors now than ever. This puts our environment in a position of great power as well as importance. What design has more of an impact on us than this? We respond to it emotionally, intellectually, and physically.
At Katch Design Collective we use our training in both the sciences and interior design to intentionally cultivate the built environment in our favor. We create spaces, environments, and ultimately experiences.
Katch Design Collective is led by principal designer, Julie Katcherian, and is supported by a team of carefully assembled trades. Our team consists of: general & subcontractors, architects, builders, and trades. Each of our trades and vendors conforms to the highest industry standards and practices. Our team works collaboratively, providing each project with decades of expertise and ability.

BIOGRAPHY
Julie has paired her intuition on space with her training in design to create potent spaces that go beyond ‘simply pleasing the eyes’. Julie’s work is also informed by her background in the sciences, specifically in how the mind and body perceive space. Julie’s clients often remark that working with her not only transformed their space, but also their lives.
Living in New York awakened Julie to her innate talents around understanding and designing spaces. Julie practices with depth and genuine consideration of the built environment. She attended the New York School of Interior Design and worked for celebrated designers, including Celerie Kemble and Richard Keigh Langham. Upon graduation she returned to her home state of California and continued her studies earning a Masters of Interior Architecture.
Julie lives between the west coast and the Midwest with her husband and two children (oh! and her adorable pup). Outside of her passion for design, Julie is a dedicated foodie who is always on the hunt for the next best restaurant. Hear Julie talk design
Featured on the Design Biz Survival Guide Podcast, hosted by Rick Campos, May 2022
Hear Julie discuss biophilia – the human inclination to connect with nature – and how it influences our design decisions as well our clients response to the built environment. Julie shares how so many of our design decisions like material selections, room layouts, and furniture placement actually stem from the tenets associated with biophilia.
“Julie is truly a master of her craft.”
“What I loved the most about working with Julie is she curates her designs with intention. Meaning every design element had a purpose to support overall well being. When I walked into the space that she designed for my family you can’t help but feel tranquility which is exactly what I wanted. She has a talent for bringing in elements of nature into the home. She is also mindful of every detail. She takes the time to ensure all items are measured to perfection and it is the best item for your space. I also appreciated her simplicity in design, she really embodies the idea of less is more. As a working mom, she really made designing my home a seamless process. She truly works and listens to the home owner. I also really appreciated that she is really good with working within your budget. At the same time she offers you different looks at different price points to provide a reference of comparison. I’m truly grateful for her sense of style and patience with me!”
