Katch Design Collective is a full service interior design firm based in Orange County, California – specializing in interiors that promote health, wellbeing, and purposeful living.  We believe every choice either draws us closer to—or farther from—a life well lived.  We strategically use design as a tool to support that journey.

Interior design is the most ubiquitous design we interact with. We are always in or around architecture; in fact, we spend more time indoors now than ever.  This puts our environment in a position of great power as well as importance.  What design has more of an impact on us than this?  We respond to it emotionally, intellectually, and physically.

At Katch Design Collective, we draw on both scientific insight and interior design expertise to intentionally cultivate the built environment. We create spaces, shape environments, and ultimately design experiences.

The studio is led by principal designer Julie Katcherian, supported by a carefully curated team of architects, builders, and trades. Every collaborator adheres to the highest industry standards, bringing decades of expertise and skill to each project. Together, we work seamlessly to craft interiors that reflect both purpose and beauty.

BIOGRAPHY

Julie Katcherian pairs an intuitive understanding of space with formal training in design to create environments that go beyond simply pleasing the eye. Her work is deeply informed by her background in the sciences—particularly how the mind and body perceive and respond to space. Clients often remark that working with Julie transforms not only their homes, but also the way they live within them.

Living in New York awakened Julie to her innate talents around understanding and designing spaces. Julie practices with depth and genuine consideration of the built environment. She attended the New York School of Interior Design and worked for celebrated designers, including Celerie Kemble and Richard Keigh Langham. Upon graduation she returned to her home state of California and continued her studies earning a Masters of Interior Architecture.

Julie lives with her husband and two children (oh! and her adorable pup). Outside of her passion for design, Julie is a dedicated foodie who is always on the hunt for the next best restaurant. She is an avid reader, podcast junkie and lifelong student of all things curious.

“Julie is truly a master of her craft.”

“What I loved the most about working with Julie is she curates her designs with intention. Meaning every design element had a purpose to support overall well being. When I walked into the space that she designed for my family you can’t help but feel tranquility which is exactly what I wanted. She has a talent for bringing in elements of nature into the home. She is also mindful of every detail. She takes the time to ensure all items are measured to perfection and it is the best item for your space. I also appreciated her simplicity in design, she really embodies the idea of less is more. As a working mom, she really made designing my home a seamless process. She truly works and listens to the home owner. I also really appreciated that she is really good with working within your budget. At the same time she offers you different looks at different price points to provide a reference of comparison. I’m truly grateful for her sense of style and patience with me!”
